Course Title: Moving On Up Name of Provider: Emerald Centre Who is it suitable for: 16-18 yr old not currently in Education or Employment What will you learn: Participants will be offered a ‘menu’ of training and learning opportunities allowing participants to experiment with a variety of potential future career/learning paths. Our course will have 3 main strands over 8 weeks for 2 days per week • Manual skills in building and maintenance, • Sports and recreation • Community/ youth development. Young people need to discover the career path that suits them best – not to simply throw themselves into the first opportunity because of lack of choices. Programmes will include induction and skills assessment, vocational activity days, the other day will involve developing skills that will lead to progression and be tailored to individual need – for example working on confidence and self-esteem.
