As a potential student within The Leicester Riders Learning Centre our aim is not only to provide a professional environment for you to achieve your ambitions but also to provide you with opportunities to combine your love of sports with the chance to gain qualifications. We have designed a programme in partnership with South Leicestershire College for students with an interest in basketball (or sport in general) to give you a nationally recognised qualification. Based 3 days per week at Rutland Street, City Centre, and 2 days per week at South Leicestershire College (all students will get a FREE buss pass!) We have explained the programme below by answering a number of questions that you may ask about the course: What is included in the programme? NOCN Induction Programme NOCN Award In Sports BTEC Level 1 Active Leisure Basic First Aid NCFE Exercise Studies Functional Skills Communication (English) CSLA (Community Sports Leadership Award) These qualifications will allow you, if you chose; to progress onto a BTEC Level 2. Completion of the course will also arm you with transferable skills that will boost employability should you decide to seek employment. Hours/days of work:For the first six weeks times will be: -Monday to Thursday 10.00am to 2.00pm with occasional Saturday’s at Leicester Riders games. The course will run for 20 weeks.
