Course Title: Design-A-Wear

Who is it suitable for: 16-18 yr old not currently in Education or Employment

What will you learn: The main focus of the 'Design-A-Wear' programme is to provide opportunities for young people to be actively involved in planning, designing and creating their own range of customised garments, fashion accessories and even items such as clock, mugs, mouse mats etc. - utilising graffiti and urban arts as the framework. Learners will also have opportunities to attend graffiti & music workshops, develop their ICT skills via design and using industry practices such as vinyl wrapping, spray painting and acrylic designing. Learners will have opportunities to visit graffiti art studios, meet suppliers and generally gain more insight into the career opportunities surrounding design. The focus is to develop skills that can be used once the young person has moved on from the programme.

When does it start: W/C 7th May 2012

What qualifications will you get: Level 1 Certificate in Art, Design and Creative Studies

(Unit: using and handling media and materials in art & design)


What happens when you finish: FL Course, Employment, Apprenticeship
