Course Title: Venture Name of Provider: Stride Who is it suitable for: 16-18 yr old not currently in Education or Employment What will you learn: Stride “Venture” is an exciting new course aimed at engaging young people in learning through participation in short projects. Stride will “Venture” into the community, taking the project mobile into the streets and estates of the city and county of Leicester/shire, targeting the hardest to reach groups of young people. Offering projects focused around popular vocational skills – such as mechanics, hair and beauty, construction – each group will work towards an end product/service that learners can promote. Projects will include activities such as revamping a car, salon make-overs and the painting of public murals etc. Each project will end with a celebratory event for learners and their friends/family. When does it start: Weekly from 23rd April 2012 What qualifications will you get: Level 1 Award in Personal and Social Development What happens when you finish: FL courses, Apprenticeship Where will it be: Woodboy Street How to refer:Please see your Connexions Personal Adviser Hours of attendance: 2.5 days a week days vary How long will it last : 5 week course
