Foundation Learning is a short programme you can do to help you get into college, an apprenticeship or a job.

What do you learn?
These programmes, usually at Level 1, can help you to get ready for work or further learning.
You will have a programme worked out for you that meets your needs.
Foundation learning can help you gain confidence and learn life skills. You can also, on some courses, learn job-hunting skills and sometimes choose which job to train for by trying out different ones.
What do you get?
You will get certificates to show what you can do. When you have completed a programme you should be able to move on to an apprenticeship, go to college or get a job.
How do you get on a Foundation Learning course?
If you think you might be interested in one of these programmes, talk to an adviser at our centre who will be able to help you find a suitable programme and arrange a referral to the training provider.
