About Us
Connexions Training and Assessment Services has grown out of the Connexions training team and CAST Training. We have been delivering accredited training for the IAG workforce for 20 years.
We are part of CEMTAC which has a national reputation for the work it does in the IAG field.
Who's who?
Marion Edwards - Training manager
Marion holds qualifications in careers guidance, teaching, assessment and verification and leadership and management and has 20 years experience of training IAG staff in a wide range of organisations.
She has been part of the national consultancy groups for the new QCF and TAQA qualifications. Marion has delivered all levels of IAG accredited and non-accredited training.
Marie Alty
Marie is qualified in careers guidance, counselling, teaching, assessment and verification and has worked in the IAG sector for over 17 years.
Marie is now involved in developing learning programmes for the new QCF Advice and Guidance qualifications. Marie has developed and delivered training in a range of topics including: motivational interviewing, PowerPoint, interactive SMART board training, CAF training and safeguarding.
John Thompson
John holds qualifications in careers guidance, teaching, assessment and verification and has 16 years experience of training and developing learning resources in the field of IAG. As a guidance practitioner he has worked with a diverse range of clients ranging from students who have statements of special educational needs to undergraduates studying with the Open University. He has also acted as an external moderator for the Open College Network East Midlands for the last 10 years.
Sonia Seaman
Sonia trained as an IAG practitioner through the NVQ route and has worked in IAG for 17 years before moving into training five years ago. Sonia has extensive experience in delivering NVQ training at levels 3 and 4 and in delivering a range of CPD short courses including interviewing skills and group work. Sonia has also taken a lead role in designing and delivering LeCAP training for schools and colleges.
Jenny Sales
Jenny holds qualifications in careers guidance, advice & guidance and assessment as well as PTLLS. She has 10 years experience of working in the careers advice & guidance sector and has been assessing candidates from a range of advice and guidance organisations at levels 2, 3 and 4 for 4 years.
Sandra Parkinson
Sandra holds qualifications in careers guidance, teaching, assessment and verification. Sandra has had ten years experience in the IAG profession working in a number of organisations. Her previous experience as an adult guidance practitioner has included working on an outreach basis within different community settings. This experience supports and enriches the learning in the classroom.
Jan Harvey
Jan is our first point of contact for all enquiries for training. She is committed to helping with any query that you may have regarding our training courses. Qualified to NVQ Level 3 and PTTLS Jan also handles our NOCN programme, Internally Moderating portfolios for our ESF Team and Business Development teams.
