Helping young people to understand what employers want
We offer help to young people when applying for apprenticeships, jobs or training courses, and to support them through their interviews. An important part of this is a series of weekly workshops to help with:
- employability skills
- application forms
- CVs
- job search and interview skills.
Who better to tell them about what an employer expects from applications, interviews and starting work than you as an employer?!
If you would like to take part please contact the Employer Services Team on 0116 261 5904.
Start Out events
As part of the Leicester to Work programme Start Out events bring young people together so they can find out about the range of apprenticeships available, talk with qualified careers advisers and speak to employers who have vacancies.
The events are running throughout the summer and provide young people with an opportunity to meet employers who are recruiting apprentices. Connexions, National Careers Service and Multi-Access advisers will be also be on hand to talk about options and help explain what employers are looking for.
Vacancies across a wide range of fields including retail, construction, care, business administration, engineering and more are being promoted at these events. Find out more at www.leicester.gov.uk/startout
