National Minimum Wage increases from October 2013
The National Minimum Wage (NMW) is a minimum amount per hour that most workers in the UK are entitled to be paid. The rate depends on age and whether the worker is an apprentice.
New rates from 1 October 2013

| Rate from 1 October 2013 | £6.31 | £5.03 | £3.72 | £2.68 |
*This rate is for apprentices under 19 or those in their first year. For those 19 or over and past their first year they get the rate that applies to their age.
