Choices in Year 9

When you are at school you will have to make some choices about which subjects you do. You might chose to do art or learn French.

When you are in year 9 at school you will need to decide which subjects you want to do.

When you are deciding which subjects you want to do at school you should think about:

• which subjects you are good at.

You can do lots of different subjects at school.

But there are some subjects that you have to do at school.

The subjects that you have to do at school are:

• ICT (Information and communications and technology). This usually means working with computers
  
  
• Maths
  
  
• Science

If you find these subjects too hard you might be able to stop doing the subject.

If you want to stop doing a subject at school because it is too hard you should talk to your school

When you are in year 9 at school you will be able to choose other subjects. The subjects you will be able to choose might be things like:

• Art
  
  
  
• Cooking
  
  
  
• Design and making things
  
  
  
• Another language, like French
  
  
  
• Humanities- this means learning about people and places .

When you choose which subjects you want to do at school you should think about:

• Subjects you will need for your life when you are older
