  • Parenting

Becoming a parent can mean making some big changes in your life.

You can get lots of help and support from the groups listed on our main website for young people

    Education and jobs

Just because you are pregnant or a young parent does not mean you are not able to go to school or college or have a job.

However you will probably need help looking after your child or children. Here are some people who can help you:

If you are under 16 and you live in Leicester
    You should contact:

Teenage Pregnancy Reintegration Project  on: 0116 221 1275

If you are under 16 and you live in Leicestershire
    You should contact:
Pregnant school girls and young mothers support on: 0116 239 3249

    After you are 16
Your Connexions personal adviser will be able to help you decide what you want to do after you are 16.

If you want to stay at school, go to college, or get a job your personal adviser can help you.

    Money for childcare

If you want to go back to school or college or do an apprenticeship after your baby is born you can get money from Care to Learn. Care to Learn is money you get to pay for childcare while you are at school or college.

Your Connexions personal adviser can help you fill in a Care to Learn application form and find out about childcare.
