How we can help

As a parent or carer you have an important role to play in supporting your teenager as they make choices about their future. We believe that by working with you we can help your teenager make the best of their future.

How does it work?

Your teenager has access to their own Connexions personal adviser at their school, college or local Connexions centre. Connexions personal advisers can give support and advice on a wide range of issues such as education, training, careers, jobs, health, money, drugs, relationships, benefits, housing and the law.

It's important your teenager receives impartial information and guidance as evidence shows that those who do achieve more and are less likely to drop out or change courses than those who do not.

If your teenager has a learning difficulty or disability they can see one of our specially trained personal advisers who will be able to help them find a suitable course, job, or training opportunity. You can find out more about the help available for young people with a learning difficulty or disability in our special needs section.

We also produce a range of publications for you and your teenager that provide up to date information on career and learning options. Our publications for parents and carers are available to download from the library section in this website. Our publications for teenagers can be downloaded from the young person's website.

You can also use this website and our young people's website to access comprehensive local information on education, careers and any other issues your teenager is facing.
