Big Match 2009
 This year’s Big Match event will take place at The Walkers Stadium
on Wednesday 9th September.
The event is aimed at 16-18 year olds and supports the September Guarantee
of an offer of a place in learning or training to all young people leaving
years 11 and 12.

Student Finance: practitioner resources

Finance England has produced a set of resources for practitioners
to use with students applying for higher education
in 2009/10.
The resources include:
- Quick start guide: An overview of the basics of student finance.
- Presentations for use with students and parents including:
- A core presentation (provides basic overview of student finance),
- Eligibility and financial assessment,
- Financial support for NHS and social work and initial teacher training courses,
- Supplementary grants including; Childcare Grant, Parents’ Learning Allowance,and Adult Dependants’ Grant,
- Disabled Students Allowances.
- Case study workbook that can be used with students to reinforce what they have learned from the presentations.
All resources can be downloaded from the Student Finance England website where you can also order paper copies.
